Ch-ch-Ch CHANGES....

Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes.... Man can I hear that song in my head when I write that.  Whoa how they came fast and furious in the 2nd half of 2011.  People that I keep in touch with often say that I have “so much going on”... well as of July and on...even I couldn’t keep up with the pace that life brought to me.  So I started 2012 with a new hair color and a sign of the changes I would choose to bring into 2012.

One of the largest transitions was losing my job in July of last year.  I was ever so grateful to find a new one by September but I didn’t even slow down to understand some of the new habits that needed to come with it.  I was moving from 4+ years of working out of my home and I went to a 1hr+ daily commute to the office.  WHOA!!!  I lost being able to do laundry during the week, my middle of the day workout time, my ability to work in sweats, my lunch hour to do twitter and blog... AND I COULD GO ON AND ON!!  LOTS of other change news in the youtube video below ;) So now that I have got use to some of these changes, I am looking forward at how to make it a great 2012.

First one I am concentrating on this week is food planning.... tomorrow is list writing and meal and snack planning.  Jump back next week and hold me accountable to how I do :)

New news... OLD post :)

I have been a busy bee!  This time of year is ripe with spring cleaning, industry trade shows, and spring breaks.  AND Finally yesterday we got the weather to go along with all that in Chicago!  I felt energized with things to say so I blogged this morning and realized I had this older video that I never posted.  I have trouble when on my road with blogging b/c I tend not to take my computer.  Now I have an Ipad and hopefully Squarespace will get a good application up and running to make posting a cinch from it!

I am still working in my happiness project on the de-cluttering.  I find that so much of the "stuff" in my house just sucks my energy.  I am participating in the neighborhood large garage sale in a few weeks so everything is up for moving the garage and I love how the organizers have the donation trucks come the Monday after the sales!  :)  It will be awesome to not only get a little extra money for summer fun but also to pass on items I no longer get value from and have someone else appreciate them and get the use out of it.

How are you spring cleaning???  Would love to hear!

Friends keep friends moving...

This is the same video you will see if you watch Kelly.  :)

Yes I still don’t have a camera.  I have been working on closing up an old job before moving to a new one on Monday.  There just haven’t been enough hours in the day because I have been KICKING BUTT with my workouts.

Last week was my best week of training EVER.  I burned 2400 calories on the Polar and I completed my first 5k in under 30 minutes.  A great place to .... Yes I took a 3 day break after that.  Wasn’t the plan or what I wanted but LIFE HAPPENS.  It is this thought and that made me think about how many of us can get down when LIFE gets in the way of our plans.  I just shared my thoughts on this with a friend who had a bad day when trying on clothes.  I thought we all have these days so I wanted to share this as my post.

They are one pair of pants.  The cut could be different or the fabric.  You can't sync your self esteem and progress over 1 pair of pants.  Go back and look at the things you have done and focus there.

Even when you are "skinny" or at your goal weight - you are going to have days where you don't feel pretty, or you have a zit, or you ate the wrong thing.  Shit happens. You can't feed that monster.... close the door and move on.  You are absolutely entitled to a bad day - we all have them.  But it is just that a bad day.  Wake up this morning and start a new day with a fresh attitude and kick some butt.  remember focus on and give energy to what you WANT!

I no longer see myself as fat or skinny.  If I notice a fat conscious moment I immediately switch my focus to strong vs. weak.  I just go towards focusing on getting stronger.

This is not a race... it's a journey - let's enjoy it together.
