Hi! My name is Amy, and this is the part where I tell you a little about myself and tie all of my experiences, roles and passions into a few short paragraphs.
Like you, I have no doubt that my life and I are often more complex and complicated than a one-word title or one-sentence bio could convey: I am a sales professional, a Mom, an entrepreneur, a newly-minted runner, a new-ish recruit to the world of social media and, as you can see, now a blogger as well.
In my professional life, I focus on sales, technology, strategy and action. (I guess you could say that many of those skills and approaches bleed into the to other areas of my life, too.) I take new ideas and services and introduce them to the marketplace in a manner that make sense, can benefit as many people as possible (both those selling and those buying) and, of course, that will generate profits.
In other areas of my life, I am the mother to my son, wife to my husband, passionately committed to what I call a “movement to health,” actively focused on cultivating good habits (and on ways to painlessly remove the bad ones) and drinking lots and lots of water with good stuff in it!
Ultimately, my primary focus is on relationships. In business as in any other aspect of life, everything boils down to people and connections. This is exactly what led me into the world of social media, and, in particular, to Twitter and this blog you are now reading.
I am passionate about building new relationships, and social media has allowed me to do this even more effectively than ever before. I love that I can connect with runners in California, sales professionals in New York, moms in Canada, writers in Florida, fitness buffs in Australia and even restaurants right here in my local Chicago area – all in a matter of seconds and often with just one tweet or one blog post. The world has suddenly become a much smaller space, thanks to these social tools and platforms.
While I am relatively new to this blogosphere and the social web, I am hooked. Yes, it is sometimes called “virtual,” but I know first-hand, already, how very real it all is. I’m not sure exactly what will come out of it, but I know that the possibilities for new opportunities, new ideas and new relationships are, literally, endless.
Now that you have read all the way to the end of my “All About Amy’” page, I have just one request of you.
It is pretty simple, and could also end up being quite profound:
Engage.
That’s it. Just engage. With me. Talk to me. tweet me. Comment on this blog. Email me privately.
Whatever means of communication you choose is fine with me…start the conversation and let’s connect!
